Scrabble it

Play Scrabble online with the Scrabble keyboard

Monday, January 19th, 2009 |

“Scrabble is a word game in which two to four players score points by forming words from individual lettered tiles on a game board marked with a 15-by-15 grid. The words are formed across and down in crossword fashion and must appear in a standard dictionary” ( Wikipedia).

Some of you might not be familiar with this game, even if it’s very well known in the whole world, so they wouldn’t be able to understand the surprise on the faces of those who see the Scrabble keyboard from the picture above.

Therefore, if you’re a fanatic Scrabble player and you love the game as much as you love your mother, then you a have a reason powerful enough to make you want to have your very own Scrabble keyboard. The device is meant to commemorate your passion, even if it’s quite a weird way to do such a thing. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather type the words quickening their steps out of my brain at my regular black Microsoft keyboard instead of using one which features scrabble tiles made of wood combined with brushed aluminum. The silver accents are meant to give this keyboard a more industrialized aspect to the overall design.

You should know that the buttons are real scrabble tiles, which makes it even more impressive, isn’t it? They were hand-beveled and then introduced in a USB keyboard. It sounds like a sisyphic work that could easily drive anyone mad. As far as the points of the individual letters are concerned, they were all modified in order to display the secondary function of the key.

Unfortunately, if you’re already dreaming about this new keyboard, allowing you to play Scrabble online (but of course, what else?), you should know (before getting too excited) that it won’t hit the mass production anytime soon.
